Tips & Tricks BESTMIX Feed formulation

The "used in" tool allows BESTMIX feed formulation users to search through their compounds and products based upon pre-set conditions (ingredient inclusions and/or nutrient values).

How to use the "used in" functionality

We'll explain the functionality with the following example: We are searching for all the active products that contain an inclusion of wheat higher than 25% and where the dry matter value is higher than 88%.

Go to ‘Tools’ and click on "used in". A wizard opens...

Step 1: Set up parameters

  • Conditions:
    • Optimisation: Search in the current optimisation result of your compounds.
    • Production: Search in all your active products.
    • Products: Search in all the products. This is the option we need for our example.
    • Ingredient and/or nutrient: if you set conditions on nutrients and on ingredients, you can choose if both need to be fulfilled.
  • Composition:
    • Values are in % or based upon the batch size.

Step 2: Select Compounds

Users have the option to select the compounds in which they want to search. After this selection is made they can add the conditions (minimum on dry matter (88%) and minimum on wheat of 25%).

Step 3: Pivot table

The final step of this wizard shows the results in a customizable pivot table. The fields on top of the screen can be added to the pivot table. In the example below we added the plant name and the version number. Click on the field you want to add and drag it to the location where you want it.
