Tips & tricks BESTMIX Feed formulation Related compounds

BESTMIX Feed formulation users can save a lot of time by using the related compound functionality in situations such as when:

  • You have formulas with different parameters (name, code, labels, …) but an identical composition
  • You have formulas that have the same composition, but have different extra product ingredients (additives, medicines, …)

By setting up a main compound and as many related compounds as needed users only have to formulate/optimize the main compound. The related compound only requires a single set up (with the specific parameters and/or extra product ingredients) and don't require any optimization afterwards.

How to save time by using the related compound functionality?

When the main compound is rounded the composition will be taken over to the related products (taking into account the specific extra product ingredients - if applicable) and all the specific labels, reports, etc. will be created in one go.

Related compounds can also be created on the go, directly from the main compound.

You can select an existing compound, or create a new compound by filling in the code, description and plant. By clicking the ingredients button you can easily add extra product ingredients, simply select the type and enter the value, these will appear in new columns per ingredient.

The rounding process

When you start the rounding process, it will first round the main compound. The button “related compounds (x/y)” in the general tab displays the compounds (main and related) that you are rounding. The ones you don’t want to round can be unchecked.
