Users of BESTMIX Formulation as a Service can use the ingredient family functionality as a "secondary" grouping function. The functionality allows the collection of ingredients that have certain common characteristics. Without the ingredient families, users would have to reselect ingredients each time they need to process a set of ingredients (for example during Multiple amending, Price changes, …). This allows them to work much faster. In BESTMIX Formulation as a service there are 2 kind of families: ‘Public families’ and ‘My families’. Public families are interesting if multiple users want to use a selection of ingredients. ‘My families’, are user-specific and can’t be used by other users.

How to create a family

Navigate to the ingredient section from within the main application. In the subsection "Ingredient families", you'll find two groups of families: Public and My families. Depending on what kind of family you want to create, click on one of these groups. Click "new" to create a new family. Fill in the code and description and save the family.

The next step is to add ingredients. You can search by code or by ingredient description. Once you are ready, click ‘OK’ and the ingredient family is created.

Using an ingredient family?

In every window where you need to select ingredients, you have a field on top of the screen where you can select any of the different ingredient families. When you select an ingredient family, all the ingredients that are part of this family will be selected.
