Feed and IT professionals discuss efficient feed production and optimal customer service at Adifo seminar
Visitors expanded their knowledge by attending several presentations focusing on best practices and business cases in feed formulation, quality control and logistics. Among the different presenters were Alan Parsons (Mole Valley Farmers Ltd., UK), Jacob Malmros (Pågen AB, Sweden), Jan Nicolai (expert agri commodities sourcing, Netherlands) and several Adifo product managers. All of them shared their views on important topics in the world of feed production, what they are currently focusing on and how they expect the feed industry to evolve in the future.
Below you can find a summary of the presentations that were given
Independent expert agri commodities sourcing, Jan Nicolai, talked about the immense challenge of feeding 9 billion people by 2050. The feed industry will be at the forefront of the biggest threat this century. We will have to cope with high levels of raw material shortages and volatility. Efficiency, transparency and sustainability will be the key elements of success in the feed industry of the near future.
Alan Parsons, Program manager at Mole Valley Farmers – one of Britain’s leading agricultural supply businesses – shared a number of implementation highlights upon implementing a new ERP solution based on Microsoft Dynamics AX. The project was completed successfully by working together closely with Adifo. When previous attempts to implement the Microsoft Dynamics AX solution fell short, Mole Valley Farmers decided to contact an industry-specific specialist. Adifo succeeded in implementing the feed-specific MILAS AX modules in less than 6 months, impressing both MVF and Microsoft. Since then MILAS AX has brought MVF’s administration to a higher dimension and is proving to be a reliable solution that’s future-proof.
Valerina De Lille, Operations Manager ERP at Adifo further explained how MILAS AX brings added value to industries as complex and diverse as the feed, milling and trading sector.
Adifo’s R&D manager, Reinhart De Lille, showed how using the cloud and big data contributes to meeting the challenges put forward by Jan Nicolai and how using new technology will allow the feed industry to discover new opportunities in the Supply Chain.
Important tips on how companies can assure availability and quality of their products were given by Pågen AB’s Business Solutions IT manager, Jacob Malmros. He found that by combining MILAS AX with their Dynamics AX environment and adding a separate quality control environment, BESTMIX LIMS, they get a clear overview of their raw materials and are able to increase their efficiency by relying on accurate quality data.
Paul Smolders, Adifo product manager, shared additional insights on how companies can benefit from integrating a smart quality management tool like BESTMIX LIMS into their business. Big data has finally come to the world of quality and its benefits are impressive.
The seminar was concluded with a presentation by Karel Vervaet on Adifo's innovative and award-winning solution: BESTMIX Formulation as a Service. By combining technological advancements in the computing world with over 40 years of experience in the feed industry we are now ready to enter the collaborative era.
Important takeaways that have the potential to reduce costs, improve customer satisfaction and boost profit, combined with a Belgian beer tasting at an exciting location made for satisfied guests and a successful seminar on feed & milling industry-specific IT solutions.
