NWF Agriculture: Small changes lead to huge user enhancements

by Tim De Ryck

After the successful implementation of ADIFO’s ERP-system “MILAS®” in June of 2014 (= an ERP system based on the Microsoft Dynamics AX2012 platform), NWF Agriculture completed all necessary administrative preparations, and was set to handle the challenges of a growing company, for years to come. Combining the world-leading ERP-package from Microsoft together with Adifo’s sector specific modules and industry knowledge; sealed the end of a successful collaboration. But in order to further enhance their productivity and efficiency, NWF Agriculture decided to start another project to build upon this, already stable platform.

Rob Thomas, Finance Director at NWF Agriculture: “We have continued to collaborate with Adifo to further improve our ERP system post implementation. We have a good working relationship and process for continual developments which realise quick wins with minor effort. We have a core group of super-users who have deep expertise in our system and we involve them in evaluating the benefits of the changes which Adifo propose. It is motivating to our people when they see their enhancement proposal becoming part of the core system. This is also beneficial to our customers as it helps to maintain the excellence in service which we take great price in.”

Tim De Ryck, Consultant at Adifo: “Following the successful closing of the initial implementation project, we’ve quickly found ourselves working on some other projects with NWF Agriculture, spurred on by their acquisitions of SC Feeds and Jim Peet Agriculture. We have also introduced bulk-blending, this means that now MILAS automatically requests the updated label information of a customer-specific blend from the BESTMIX® software so no human interaction from the formulation department is needed anymore. Finally, the last six months were spent focussing on relatively small improvements, but they all had a significant impact on NWF’s productivity. Small tweaks to the follow-up of contracts and to the commodity trade position monitor made contracting a lot easier and the business more agile to commercial factors. The credit control process has been simplified and we have worked to make order processing more efficient. These small changes mean a better experience for NWF and more importantly their customers.”
