Businesses specialized in bulk processes - for instance businesses that are active in the agricultural, commodity or concrete industries - commonly face a variety of challenges when it comes to integrating data between their ERP and their weighbridges. With this in mind, Adifo has created a standard “out-of-the-box” connection that supports all business processes associated with weighing trucks, more particularly for receiving and delivering bulk materials.
Adifo designed a “weighbridge monitor” in MILAS, to support all weighbridge related actions for the weighbridge operator. This means that the entire route of the truck - from the arrival of the truck at the security post until the final receipt or delivery - can now easily be managed from one screen.
The Process
When signing in a truck at the security post, the vehicle can be identified either by its license plate number or by an RFID tag given to the truck driver, upon which the truck is then allocated to a certain weighbridge.
When the truck drives onto the weighbridge, the weighbridge operator identifies the vehicle and matches the correct sales or purchase order related to the load. The operator can then register the current weight with a simple click of a button. Thanks to the direct link between MILAS and the weighbridge via Ethernet or COM, the current weight is queried immediately.
Following this loading or unloading process, the weighbridge is queried once more in order to register the second weight. Immediately the net weight is calculated based on these two weights.
A receipt of delivery is posted automatically and all the necessary documents (like delivery notes or weighing tickets) are printed. The truck can then sign out to leave the weighbridge area, or the same exact process can be repeated to load or unload another product on the truck.
Conclusion
Thanks to the real-time weighbridge connection in MILAS and the user-friendly weighbridge monitor, your organization can benefit from a smarter, faster and more accurate processing of bulk management during the intake or delivery flow.
Supported Dynamics platformsThe described feature is currently available in Microsoft Dynamics AX2012 R3 based MILAS. Adifo is in the process of transferring this feature along with many other MILAS features to the new Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations platform.
