Everybody is familiar with standard storage methods and the concept of warehouses and silos. In feed business, things are often not standard though. Farmers cannot store their liquid or dry feed in a regular way. They need to make use of silo’s or tanks to store their animal feed. But how do you –as supplier- manage these customers’ silo’s and make sure you deliver the feed in the correct silo?

As an industry expert, Adifo offers the right tools to manage the customer silo’s in its ERP software. During the implementation of MILAS, one of the standard things to do is to define the silos at customer level. Thanks to this feature, the order-entry employee can enter the correct customer silo at sales order level.  The ERP software will then print the correct silo on all delivery forms, allowing the truck driver to identify and unload the goods in the correct silo. If no silo is entered upon order-entry, the built-in validation system in the ERP will produce a warning.  

Another important aspect of this functionality is the possibility to check the product-silo combination. This prevents fundamental errors during the order entry process and avoids goods returns. In other words, silo management is a way to increase your delivery reliability.
